Why should I answer a survey just read a story?

Channel 5 has been my go to station for years, and now that Im living in another state I must rely on the app for news from home. That was all well and good until now. Every story I select either demands I take a survey to read the story or Im only met with an advertisement and no story!
Prior to this review I attempted to directly contact them through the app but absolutely 0 information pops up, only a contact us title.
As a result of this my frustration outweighs my need to use this app so until an update is released I will NOT be using this app anymore.
